Shifting From Resistance to Allowing

Welcome – Let’s SHIFT From Resistance to Allowing.

Resistance often shows up when we feel unsafe, unsure, or unwilling. Not because we’re broken, but because something in us is bracing for impact. Today, we soften that brace. We don’t force it away. We don’t shame it. We just… allow.

Allow presence. Allow breath. Allow whatever is here. Find a comfortable position. Let your hands rest gently and close your eyes if you wish.

Let’s begin with a breath: inhale gently… and exhale slowly. You don’t need to do anything more than that.

 

Breath Awareness – Soft Rhythm 01:07

Let’s breathe together with a soft rhythm:
Inhale… 2… 3…
Exhale… 2… 3… 4…

Let the breath begin to melt the edges.

Inhale… I soften.
Exhale… I surrender.

Feel for any areas of tightness or clenching in your body… maybe the jaw, the shoulders, the belly, the hands. As you exhale, imagine those places loosening just a little, as if the body is saying: “I don’t have to hold this alone anymore.” Let the breath begin to make space.

 

Meeting Resistance Without Force 01:59

Now, gently bring your attention to the part of you that is resisting. Maybe it’s a task, a truth, a feeling, or a decision. Maybe it’s unclear, just a subtle “no” in the background of your body.

Whatever it is, don’t try to get rid of it. Instead, notice it. Where do you feel it? What does it feel like? Imagine it as a wall, or a clenched fist, or a closed door.

Then gently ask:
What are you protecting me from?
What would happen if I didn’t resist this?

Let the questions open space around the resistance. Not to push through it, but to understand it.

Say inwardly:
You don’t have to fight so hard anymore.
We’re safe to soften.

 

Inviting Allowing – Visualization 03:13

Now imagine you are standing in a gentle river. The current moves around you, not forceful, not stagnant, just flowing. You’ve been standing with your arms out, bracing. Now, one at a time, you let your arms drop. You feel the current move around you, not against you.

This is what allowing feels like. You are not giving up, you are giving over to life’s movement.

Say with your breath:
Inhale… I release the fight.
Exhale… I allow what is.
Inhale… I trust the current.
Exhale… I move with life.

Let the current rinse away the grip. Let it show you: you don’t have to carry so much. You are allowed to let go.

 

Affirming and Embodying 04:22

Now return to your body. Notice what has shifted, even subtly. Place one hand on your heart, one hand on your belly.

Say slowly:
I do not need to push to be powerful.
I do not need to hold back to be safe.
I can soften and still be strong.
I allow this moment to be what it is.
I allow myself to be who I am.

Let your breath move through you like a gentle breeze. You are not stuck. You are in process. You are learning to live with openness.

 

Closing 05:14

Begin to gently come back to the space around you. Wiggle your fingers, stretch if it feels good, feel your breath, steady and alive.

Before you open your eyes, say silently or out loud:
I do not resist myself anymore.
I allow what is.
I allow who I am.
I trust the flow, and I move with life.

When you’re ready, open your eyes. Welcome back, soft and sovereign.
