Benefits of Grounding

What is Grounding?

Grounding, also known as earthing, is the simple act of connecting your body to the Earth. This can happen when you stand barefoot on natural ground or use a grounding product, such as a pad that’s connected into the Earth. When you make contact, a transfer of electrons takes place – your body begins to absorb the Earth’s electricity, creating beneficial changes in your system that support vitality.

How Did We Get Disconnected?

Since the invention of rubber-soled shoes, we’ve become disconnected from the Earth’s surface. These shoes act as insulators, preventing the natural balancing action that used to occur more often in our daily lives. As a result, we build up positive electric charges in our bodies. Without grounding, these charges can’t be neutralized.

But when we connect to the Earth, something beautiful happens. Negative electrons are absorbed into our system, neutralizing those built-up positive charges and restoring internal balance.

Why Does This Matter?

These Earth-derived electrons function as natural antioxidants. They help neutralize free radicals – those pesky, positively charged particles that, if left unchecked, can damage cells and contribute to inflammation, poor sleep, and imbalances in our emotional and physical health.

Some of the reported benefits of consistent grounding include:

  • Improved sleep quality
  • Enhanced wound healing
  • Reduction in inflammation

My Experience

Even though I spend a lot of time in nature, I discovered I wasn’t getting enough direct connection. So I made a small investment in a grounding pad (a link to purchase is below).

Within a couple of weeks, I noticed deep shifts – more restful sleep, calmer thoughts, fewer food cravings, and a quieting of anxious feelings. My Integrative Body & Energy Balancing™ clients also noticed shifts – freer movement, more ease. It was as if two versions of themselves were present: the one on the pad and the one off of it.

And yes – it felt almost too simple to make such a difference. I almost brushed it off. But I’ve learned to pay attention to the simple things. We are nature. And nature has a rhythm, a flow, a wisdom.

In reconnecting with the Earth, I reconnected with myself. And the partnership with Mother Earth – the one we all depend on – has been restored in my life.

The Takeaway

The return on investment in something like a grounding pad is profound. The benefits ripple through your sleep, your thoughts, your body, and your being.

Happy earthing, fellow human being.

I’m Triggered Again – and I’m Tired of It

Being triggered again doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means your nervous system is revealing something it learned long before you had language for it. Healing isn’t about erasing triggers – it’s about changing how you meet yourself inside them.

The Subtle Power of “My”

The Subtle Power of “My”

Every time you use words like my, mine, or me, you’re entering an energetic contract with whatever you’re naming – people, ideas, wounds, patterns, or roles. Language becomes identity. Identity becomes reality. When you shift how you take ownership, you shift how you experience your life

When Your Brother Was the Enforcement

When Your Brother Was the Enforcement

When your brother became Enforcement, your body learned one thing: “My safety doesn’t matter.”
And when safety disappears, the self disappears.
Your reactions now aren’t weakness – they’re memory. Naming this truth is the first step back to yourself.

A Single Edge: Finding Depth Through Simplicity

In a world chasing more—more tasks, more connections, more noise—the true edge lies in doing less, but doing it with full presence and purpose. When we wield the Sword of Simplicity, we carve out space for depth, creativity, and the quiet power of a single, well-chosen focus.

To Bee or Not to Be

To Bee or Not to Be

What if the question isn’t “to be or not to be,” but to bee or not to be—to exist with presence, purpose, and quiet contribution like the honeybee, without needing proof of worth? Maybe the answer lies not in thinking more, but in being more—simply, and fully.
